My 1st visit to Canada

I missed the flight to Toronto on September 27 via Korean Air when Metro Manila was hit by the strong typhoon Ondoy on September 26. My sister had to rebook me for the following day flight with same details.

Thanks to my cousin Jocelyn Lucero-Leong and her husband Tony who picked me up at the airport at around 9:20pm. I actually arrived earlier than the ETA. I lived in their house in Brampton for 12 days.

Since it’s my first time in Canada, the first thing I had in mind was to compare it with the U.S.

What I feel and like in Canada (although I wandered only in Brampton and Toronto).

1. Clean environment.
2. Family-oriented. I believe this is the best place to live in.
3. Community centers are impressive with nice indoor ice skating rinks, swim pools, basketball gyms and multi-purpose halls.
4. Life is simple. No need to be flashy. No need to buy luxury cars. No need to impress anyone.
5. Transportation is easy. I learned how to take the bus and the train on my 3rd day of stay.
6. You will love it. Well, for me at least who’s familiar to some U.S. culture and system.

On the 3rd day, I learned how to ride on the bus and the train. If you don’t wanna get lost going to Toronto downtown, just take any train going to Union Station….haha!

We walked all the way from Union station to the old Toronto city hall.

The Chinese restaurant in Eaton Center where we had lunch.

Indigo in Eaton Center, Toronto. Where I bought the book “I Drink For A Reason” by David Cross. I could have it signed personally by him the following day. Sometimes you need to read an arresting book and know the bad and comedic sides of life.

During winter, this area turns into an ice skating rink.

Where do the pigeons go during this season? To that cart? Just kidding. 🙂

So there’s Ruth’s Chris in Toronto. My favorite steak house in Las Vegas.

Inside the CN Tower where we had an adventitious tour up to 1,465 feet.

I wanna go higher…Elevate my mind….

Going up to Sky Pod.

My ninong/uncle before I found out that he is afraid of heights. Well, who else is not afraid to look down from 1,465 ft.?

Now it’s time to jump! I mean to go down. By the way, the Filipina elevator and ticket assistant turns out to be cute when I heard her speaking in French. That’s 1000 pretty points!
