Some friends asked me why I am no longer active on Facebook. I have 25 reasons why

My friend from Los Angeles called me up and asked me how I am and what I have been up to. He asked me why I am no longer active on Facebook. It is not the first time I was asked such. One time I also said to my Sydney-based friend that I am more active on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

Twitter is one of my sources of sensible information and updates. Some of them come directly from the CEOs of tech companies. One is a popular meme executive. The other one is on top of eradicating the homelessness in San Francisco. One of my favorites is an anchor and correspondent who reports the value of the companies from a decade or century to the present. He twits about Tesla vs. Ford, and Apple vs. Sony, among others. YouTube is a lot more fun and the most informative. It is actually my most obvious replacement to Facebook. Instagram is a little bit of a show off on the outside posts and a bit of an antonym in stories.

To answer why I no longer post, neither comment nor like on Facebook, here are the 25 reasons why

  1. I have read books
  2. I am reading another book
  3. I redesigned my personal website (you are actually here reading this)
  4. I sometimes write and blog (obviously doing this now)
  5. I co-created a long overdue e-commerce site (visit, log in, and shop at ouitty.com)
  6. I worked on the mobile payment links and now monitoring them
  7. I am learning tips from software engineers and data scientists who are also video creators
  8. I regularly clean my condo in Makati City CBD
  9. I sometimes clean my condo in BGC
  10. I am personally talking to my parents, siblings, and nieces
  11. I am helping a niece on her startup
  12. I am working on my Q1 to Q4-2019 events and projects
  13. I am negotiating my Q1-2020 projects with clients
  14. I am praying and exercising daily
  15. I fulfilled my two 30-day challenges this year. What’s next?
  16. I am writing my daily highlights and ideas on my leather journal
  17. I designed a logo and now doodling for my future merchandise
  18. I sometimes play basketball
  19. I sometimes do longboarding
  20. I sometimes travel
  21. I talk to my close friends residing abroad
  22. I watch Netflix and YouTube before I go to sleep
  23. I do not waste time arguing with those who do not listen and are not interested. Instead, I move on peacefully and productively.
  24. I paid off my loans, mortgages, and taxes. Freedom!
  25. Because YouTube is better than Facebook

How about you? Do you have 25 reasons why you are active on Facebook?
