These are some of the Netflix films and TV series I have watched and re-watched and some of the books I have read and revisited in 2015.
First of all, I highly recommend AMC’s The Pitch to the people in the event and advertising industries.
I like watching documentary films. Some of which you cannot watch on regular cable channels. Some of them you would not even think you can watch until you see it here. Some you cannot imagine that I will be addicted to follow like how David Chang and Anthony Bourdain excite their viewers, for example, or a non-artist like me who watches Banksy’s “Exit Through The Gift Shop”. You might have never heard of him until you read on a Facebook post about “Dismaland”.
My interest in technology will never change. It is the past, the present and the future. I cannot resist watching or reading at least a biography of a business icon or innovator. Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Steve Wozniak, Elon Musk and Google Guys are some of those I repeatedly pick up the geniuses and call them my virtual mentors.
Leigh Thompson describes the evidence about the group versus individual paradox in creativity.
French movies are awesome! The appreciation of watching French films can influence your life to embrace the culture of simplicity yet straightforward. I studied the basics of French language last year and the curiosity brings me from the classroom to my TV room.
Freakonomics explains how the media persuades the world by substituting the word corruption with confusion to make a country appear unblemished.
Social networks may have opened unlimited opportunities to today’s generation. This is the generation of entrepreneurialism. Hacking to unbox secrets and neutralities, what social media may reveal will make a profound person confused. And eventually will believe in the discovered truth.
This Was Tomorrow is about Tomorrowland Musicfest culture. The staging is amazing. People spread their definitions of freedom and love. “I may not hear the music. But the pound of the heart is felt…”, says by a follower.
In 2016, I would like to read more and continue watching movies about social science, philanthropy and culture and arts. I also wish to read a biography of a popular athlete and perhaps a story about a small town in Europe or Asia.
