Louis Vuitton Cup GM Sunglasses

Every year, I buy a pair of shades in the U.S. and I stick to only 1 brand – Oakley. No question about the quality and the brand. It is more expensive in the Philippines and the models are limited so I prefer to reward myself every year I go to the US. In 2006, I bought one in Ala Moana Center in Hawaii. In 2007, I got a pair of cool stuff from an Oakley store in San Francisco, CA near Powell or Mason St. (near the cable car terminal). Last year, I bought a pair of clear eyeglasses which I occasionally use in the same store in SF.

This year I am trying the Louis Vuitton Cup GM Navy Blue. I bought it in Louis Vuitton, Greenbelt, Makati last March 15. The price? P15,300.00 (or USD318.00). I was supposed to buy the Tom Ford shades (the one used by Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace). But I was deceived by the functionality (for my own need — which are: its ability to float on water, water repellent, it protects me against UV rays, and a detachable band) of the design of the LV Cup, that is polarized and perfectly fit to my frame. I was assisted by the store associate named Mica. It’s my first time to buy an item in LV Philippine store so I had to fill up the form for their database. I thought that LV database is globalized. 🙂 I bought some LV products from Costa Mesa, California, The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas where I was assisted by Ms. Inna Peter, and in Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.

On March 16, I called up Louis Vuitton Greenbelt and spoke to a lady and asked their email address. She gave me store_greenbelt@ph.vuitton.com and emailed them (addressed to Mica). Here’s my email:

Unfortunately, I haven’t received any reply from LV Greenbelt even up to this time I am typing this blog. I know I should not compare the U.S. stores from the Philippine store but I think there has to have some standard of service. My personal experience with LV U.S. stores is better as they quickly attend to your need. Perhaps, they have more organized stocks than in the Philippines. Probably, they are not into answering emails. It is contrary though to LV’s online inquiry where you can chat live with their sales associate. I remember I was interested in buying the Black Noir High Top White Sneaker and I told the online LV associate if it looks good and asked if it has the same fit of the same size similar to the sneaker I last bought. I couldn’t remember the size so she asked my name and looked into their database. Amazingly, it is in their record that I bought size 6.5 of Bastia leather sneakers. Anyway, the size for the white sneaker was not available at that moment.

Nevertheless, the LV Cup GM sunglasses are perfect for this coming summer…
