NBA All-Star 2010 in Dallas Cowboys Stadium

While disappointed with the news that Kobe Bryant would not play for this year’s All-Star game, having seen the most boring 3-point shootout and Slam Dunk contest, and the not so good seat added to one of the reasons why I didn’t buy the jacket in American Airlines Center during the first 2 nights of the exhibition and contest. A zero degree Celsius kept us cold but not really complaining after we flew from Manila, Philippines to Dallas, Texas with a 4-hour stopover in San Francisco via the old 1970s acquired Boeing 747 of Philippine Airlines. After the first night of the exhibition, we went straight to the NBA Tip-Off party at Hilton Anatole. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any single NBA All-Star player. But with the entertainment, good food, and our personal ability to have made us survived with most of the first experiences including Christopher Conwi’s very first visit to the United States (of all of the cities, why Dallas).

On the last night of the event, John Co drove the Honda Civic we rented for 1 week from Hertz navigated by the Garmin GPS we purchased from Walmart just to get to see for the first time the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium where Manny Pacquiao was launched over a month ago for his fight on March 13 at the same venue.

Apple employees call the Apple Campus in Cupertino, CA the “mothership”. But the Cowboys Stadium is so overwhelming with its 11,500 square feet HD TV and with the area that can accommodate more than 120,000 people, it’s has to be called the “mothership” in the North Texas. It’s what you can say about with “the better seats” we got this time to watch the main event. It placated our disappointment with the first 2 nights. Though we are happy, yet I still say “hindi pa rin” (in Tagalog).

Personally, the main event is not only the game. But it’s the moment to be one of the 108,713 attendees of a basketball game in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Then I got the reason to search and bought the NBA All-Star 2010 jacket. Not in Dallas. But in Westfield in San Francisco downtown.

I thought it’s Mike Abasolo of Inboundpass who’s hosting the event.

Christopher Conwi’s 1st U.S. trip.

Are you willing to pay some cash, baby?

The $125.00 All-Star Jacket we didn’t buy in Dallas. We did regret. But we got a pair in Westfield, San Francisco downtown…at $100.00@.
